The brown cushion is finished and in 18ish days I am pretty sure I will be named best SIL in the world, but more importantly it means I can get back to obsessing over my latest rainbow quilt. My parcel of loveliness arrived from Annie yesterday and I managed to get the top finished.

I made a quick trip to Ikea this morning (sometimes living only 5 minutes away from one is a good thing) and have stocked back up on the fabulous number print to make a pieced backing. I am going to try custom quilting this with swirls, pebbles and wavy lines. That should take up most of my week off from work!

Oooooh that sounds like a fantastic week off! We don't have an ikea on our little island at all, so I'm pretty jealous you have one so close :o)
ReplyDeleteIt is coming along so beautifully. Love the combination of the rainbow with the wide neutral borders.
ReplyDelete*drooooooool* delish!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The colours are perfect, I love it. And how lucky are you being only 5 minutes away from Ikea, it's at least 40 minutes each way for me, total pain! Good Luck with the quilting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and the number print is also fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I'm obsessed with that number print but don't have Ikea anywhere close:(
ReplyDeleteIt is coming along very nicely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! That number fabric is so cool and will make such a great backing! My nearest Ikea is a few hours away but I'm tempted to drive there to find some. It sounds like you are going to have fun with the quilting!
ReplyDeleteOrder has been restored to the world....welcome back rainbow
ReplyDeleteLove it xxx
ReplyDeletei love it (and your design wall)
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt - I really like the dark frame you are containing the rainbow with!
ReplyDeleteOnly 5 mins from Ikea - heaven! Hazardous to your bank account maybe but heaven.
ReplyDeleteThat looks lovely, I like the neutral border. You can never have enough rainbows.
Looking good! I can't wait to see how you quilt it, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteLove love love! What more can I say?!
ReplyDeleteHope you steered clear of the meatballs ;-) It's looking great Kelly and it's good to get back to sewing what we like after the duty sewing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, happy quilt! Crosshatch in Grey is one of my favorites right now!
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous! I often wish there was an Ikea closer but if there was I'd have even less money than I do now!
ReplyDeleteAnd relax, rainbows are back and all is right with the world :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I REALLY need to make one too! Scraps and rainbows, my two favourite things!
